4/14/2017 0 Comments Benefits of a Spring HikeSpring has sprung, and with the weather warming up and beautiful colors blossoming now is the perfect time to start adding in a weekly hike. Not only will a weekly hike benefit yourself health wise, but it provides the opportunity to adventure your local hills when it is both the most beautiful, and most comfortable (before the summer heat). Variety: There is a vast amount of landscape, trails, and weather all within a close proximity of our area. This provides not only a variety of options, but each day brings a different variety to even the same trail than the day before. Such as now, the weather is becoming ideal to get outside and enjoy the outdoors, this brings on an amazing variety of comfortable and beautiful hikes as things begin to green and blossom. Community: In the hills you are surrounded by like-minded people who are just as happy to be enjoying the sunshine a nature as you are. Unlike the dreaded gym conversations, where people are typically looking to be anti-social and get in and back out as soon as possible. While hiking it is just an added element to socialize either with those you are hiking with, or another group taking a break. Whether it is discussing the views and how the hike will be worth it in the end. Fitness: Not everybody gets into the hills for health benefits of fitness alone, but it is an added bonus! Why stare at a wall as you run for two miles when you could turn those two miles into a journey with views like any other. The changing terrines of the hills between going up-or-down, and this provides a total cardio workout for your body. Health: To sum everything up, getting out and hiking is just plain good for your health. It provides opportunity to explore, adventure, and see things that you normally wouldn’t in your everyday life. It gets you away from the city, and a chance to breath fresh air and leave your stresses behind. You get the valuable nutrients such as vitamin D from the sun that many people lack of from spending their time indoors or being gym rats. Not to mention, you can’t really beat the health benefits of tasting a freshly picked berry up in the hills.
